About the course

This experiential session explores how our relationship with nature can become a powerful practice for self-awareness, grounding and renewal. Using simple sensory practices, guided reflection and nature-based prompts, participants will be invited to slow down, step out of habitual patterns of “doing” and reconnect with themselves through the living world around them.

The session does not require access to a forest or outdoor space. Participants will work with whatever element of nature is accessible to them, using observation, listening, sensing and reflection to explore their own inner rhythms, needs and ways of being.

Guidelines for Participants

Before the Workshop

* Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can be undisturbed for the duration of the session.
* Keep one small element of nature with you, such as a leaf, flower, seed, stone, twig, or a potted plant. If you don't have access to these, simply keep a view of the sky, a window, or any living element nearby.
* Keep a notebook and pen handy for reflection.
* Come with comfortable clothing and a willingness to slow down, notice and be curious.
* There is no need to prepare or know anything about nature. Just bring yourself and your attention.
* Keep some water with you

During the Workshop

* Keep your camera on where possible, especially during experiential activities.
* Find a comfortable position that allows you to relax and move when invited.
* Participate at your own pace. You are always welcome to pause, observe or opt out of an activity.
* Keep your phone and other distractions aside as much as possible.
* There are no right or wrong observations. Allow yourself to notice without judging or analysing.
* Respect the confidentiality and sharing of other participants.

After the Workshop

* Take a few minutes to sit quietly and notice what you are carrying forward from the session.
* Note down one insight, feeling or question that stayed with you.
* Choose one small nature-based practice from the session to continue in your everyday life.
* Notice how your relationship with your surroundings changes when you intentionally slow down and pay attention.
* If possible, spend some time outdoors in the days following the workshop and allow the practice to continue beyond the session.
